About This Course

All practice is done in your own safe lab using apps like DVWA and Metasploitable. You only test systems you own or have permission to test. This course is for learning and defence — not illegal hacking. Cyber Security Beginner is a 6-month course for students with zero experience. Classes are 3 days a week, 1 hour each — easy to follow while learning real skills step by step. **Module 1 — Computer & Internet Basics** Learn what a computer is, how hardware and software work, what an operating system does, how IP addresses and DNS work, what happens when you open a website, and how to stay safe online. **Module 2 — Introduction to Cyber Security** Learn the CIA Triad, the difference between white hat and black hat hackers, how phishing and malware work, why strong passwords matter and how two-factor authentication (2FA) protects you. **Module 3 — Networking for Beginners** Learn how networks work, what IP addresses and ports are, how DNS and firewalls work, the difference between HTTP and HTTPS, basic network commands (ping, ipconfig, tracert) and a simple introduction to Wireshark. **Module 4 — Linux & Command Line Basics** Set up Kali Linux in a free virtual machine, learn Linux commands, manage files and permissions, install tools with apt and write a simple Bash script. **Module 5 — Web Security Basics** Learn how websites work and how attackers exploit them. Covers OWASP Top 10, SQL Injection, XSS, broken authentication and security misconfiguration. Practice safely using Burp Suite and DVWA in your own lab. **Module 6 — Ethical Hacking Fundamentals** Learn what ethical hacking is, the 5 phases of a penetration test, how to use Nmap, an introduction to Metasploit, how password cracking works, and how to write a basic security report.
